Business model and recipients of the data

Trip Tours provides two types of service, with different data processing in each case:

  • Own free tours (Madrid and Sevilla): these are Trip Tours’ own services, provided by our guides. We process the data from these bookings directly and manage it through the Donicus booking system.
  • Free tours in the rest of the European cities, and day trips: these are affiliate products. Trip Tours acts as an affiliate reseller and the customer contracts the service directly with the relevant platform or operator. When you click on an affiliate product, you are directed to the partner platform (FreeTour.com, GuruWalk or GetYourGuide), where you provide your data and complete the booking in accordance with that platform’s privacy policy.

To run the site and manage our own bookings, we rely on the following providers, which may process data on behalf of Trip Tours under contract or as independent controllers:

  • Donicus: platform for managing bookings of our own free tours.
  • Hostinger: provider of website hosting and email.
  • Google (Google Ireland Ltd.): web analytics via Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager, and Maps and Places services.
  • Meta (Facebook / Instagram): measurement pixel (Meta Pixel) for campaign optimisation.
  • Affiliate partner platforms (FreeTour.com, GuruWalk and GetYourGuide): they receive your data only when you access them to book an affiliate product.

We will not transfer your data to third parties for their own commercial purposes, nor will we sell it.

International transfers

Some of our providers (Google and Meta) may process data outside the European Economic Area, with servers in the United States. In all cases, these providers have adequate safeguards in place under the GDPR, such as standard contractual clauses and the European Commission’s adequacy decisions.

Data retention

We keep your data for the following periods:

  • Data from completed bookings: up to 5 years from the provision of the service, due to tax and consumer obligations.
  • Data from enquiries that do not result in a booking: up to 12 months from the last contact.
  • Browsing data (cookies): as set out in our cookie policy.

Under the GDPR and the Spanish Data Protection Act (LOPDGDD), you have the right to:

  • Access your personal data.
  • Rectify inaccurate data.
  • Erase your data (right to be forgotten).
