- How much does a free tour in Madrid cost?
- Booking is free and you pay nothing upfront. At the end you give the guide a voluntary contribution; in Madrid it usually runs between 15 and 20 euros per person, depending on how much you enjoyed it.
- Which free tour is best to start with?
- The Habsburg Madrid free tour is the most complete one for a first visit: it lays out the old town, from kilometre zero at Puerta del Sol to the Royal Palace, and leaves you oriented for the rest of the city.
- Do I need to book in advance?
- Yes, we recommend booking your spot because groups are small and tend to fill up in high season and at weekends. Booking is free and takes a minute to confirm.
- Do the tours run if it rains?
- Yes. As they are outdoor walks, we also head out in light rain (we recommend comfy shoes and an umbrella). A departure is only called off when the authorities issue a severe-weather warning.
- Is the Toledo day trip worth it?
- Very much. Toledo, the City of Three Cultures, is less than an hour from Madrid and can be seen in half a day or a full day. It is the most requested day trip from the capital.
